Lately I have been putting a lot of thought into investing in basics. Say what? Yes – me, the maximalist, print-loving peacock. As I mature, my closet matures along. Although I buy less frequently, the value of each piece is bigger because it will – hopefully – last a lifetime.
I’m not saying you’ll see me walking around looking like a basic Parisienne nor have I converted to normcorism. I am simply building my perfect wardrobe: a closet full of well-chosen items that define my personal style. Clothes that make me happy when I put them on. I believe that as we grow older, we define our personal style and therefore can immediately see if an item is right for us or not.
I would like to explore this interesting subject on the blog, covering subjects like personal colour palettes, the capsule wardrobe, the signature look and so much more. These posts will be clustered in my new category: The Perfect Wardrobe.
